If you have a question you want to ask, this thread is the right place to ask it. Feel free to ask whatever you want, we're not going to jeer at you for a simple question. We're here to help.


Q. Why was my post locked?
A. If it was a roleplay and was inactive for over a month, then it will be locked. If you want to continue it, message one of the admins and we will unlock if for you. It also could've been that you didn't read the rules, which is a definite no-no. If it was an OOC message, then it was probably breaking the rules in some way.

Q. How can I be an official character?
A. First off, check the "Official Character Availability" topic in the official character applications section of the website ( http://iblis-trigger.net/lom/forum/view ... ?f=29&t=13 ). Once you see if the character you'd like is available, use the character application form ( http://iblis-trigger.net/lom/forum/view ... ?f=29&t=12 ) and include TWO roleplaying samples. Send that application to four of the admins/mods, we will review it and give you feedback. If you are accepted, you may choose between making a new account for the character or using it on your existing account. Please note that you should not register with the character's name before you are accepted!!

Q. What's all this stuff about these Chao?
A. More information will be given shortly. I will link this answer to the post that explains.

Q. Can I have a chao?
A. Not if you ask. They are given out to people who help the admins when they're busy, are generous to other members, are active, et cetera.

Q. Why was my character rejected?
A. Probably because you didn't read the rules. <3

Q. Can I be a Black Arms//GUN Soldier//part of the Eggman Empire?
A. We will allow people to be them on special occassions. But please, not before we get a Black Doom (for Black Arms), Dr. Eggman/Robotnik (for Eggman Empire) and a GUN Commander (for GUN). No, that doesn't mean ALL of them - you are free to request this once whichever one you want is taken.

Q. I don't like Sonic that much! Can I change the skins to this website?
A. Of course you can. You can edit it in your profile. There are several different skins, choose whichever one suits you best! The current ones we have are: Sonic (default), Shadow, Big, Metal Sonic, and Tails. There will be more as soon as the admins get the time to make them!

Q. Who are the staff members?
A. Shadow is the owner, founder and creator of LoM, with Sonic and Silver as co-admins. Princess Sally Acorn, Miles 'Tails' Prower, Metal Sonic, and Maverick are the moderators of the posts.

Q. Are you allowed to reply to any topic/role play on the site?
A. Depends on what kind of post you're talking about. A regular post, go ahead and post anywhere and anyone's allowed to reply. A question such as the ones here in the information forum.. you CAN reply to, if you know what the question's answer is right off the bat. If it's incorrect, an admin will correct you, but you won't be penalized. No worries. If you don't know, it's best left to the admins.


Q. Can you take place in more than one RP at once?
A. You can if you want to, but it isn't advised. I mean, something might happen to change the character you control drastically. Then again, you could try doing a slightly 'in-the-past' or slightly 'in-the-future' thing, if you'd like.

Q. What is "Karma"?
A. It's just a rating system. Getting them to go up is a good thing... I personally give someone a karma point if they're helpful//behave//follow the rules. If your karma goes down, it means that you've broken a rule and is used as a warning. PLEASE NOTE that we are currently working on getting this one back! It was a feature in Proboards.

Q. Can we have more than one RP character?
A. Yes, you can. You can have as many as you like, but it is RECCOMENDED to have three or less.

Q. How do you get rings?
A. Basically we have it set up to where anywhere you post other than the "lol board" (spam forum), you'll get two rings per post. Members are also capable of donating rings to other members... the code is still rather iffy, and I fear I don't have the time to work with it at the time. Another 'work in progress' thing. We're trying to get it back as soon as possible!

Q. How can you give someone a chao?
A. Well, we haven't really gotten everything situated out yet about the chaos... But... from what I've been planning, they'll be posted in one's signature as an image.. with their name, gender, and type (the one who wins the chao will be able to decide what kind of chao they want, and one of the admins will customize the image for them). It's kind of like a badge. Still working out the kinks in this one... was rather buggy on Proboards, but we MAY be able to get it to work here?

Q. Are we restricted to just our fan characters?
A. No! You are allowed to have one official character, if accepted. You don't even need to have a fan character to be an official, either.

Q. Is it possible to delete/erase/replace an original character, if you haven't already RP'd with them?
A. Sure.
You even could if you already role played them, but you'd need to find a way to get them out (ex: them leaving, or dying, et cetera).

Q. If you get an official character, are you allowed to modify them?
A. I'm sure everyone would PREFER if you used the official version, but you are allowed to slightly tweak him or her if you wish. Please don't stray too far from his or her normal though.

Q. Are we limited to just using 3 RP characters, or can we bring in more?
A. It depends. You can bring in as many as you can handle AS LONG AS you have only one (or no) officials.

Q. Does (insert official character) have to get a license for his or her (weapon/vehicle)?
A. Yes, but when they get the license they don't have to worry about buying the weapon they want. Vehicles come standard with official characters that have them, as well. Weapons licenses are another feature from Proboards we are attempting to revive. If we get them, we'll certainly let you know!

Q. What's the policy on your own characters interacting with each other? Say my characters meet each other. Do we make a post for each character or do we roll them into one post or what?
A. Whatever you want. We'd prefer it be one post, but if it helps you... it can be multiple. This is the only time we allow double posting.

Q. What are the ranks? How do you get them?
A. Ranks are usually determined by your post count, it shows how active you are. There are some, however, that don't have anything to do with post count. Those would be Administrator, Asshole Brigade, and Senior Member.

Q. What does it take to be a specific rank?
A. n00b = 0 posts
Member = 20 posts
Active Member = 50 posts
Super Member = 100 posts
Uber Member = 500 posts
Ultimate Member = 1000 posts
Asshole Brigade = A member of the moderation team.
Administrator = Someone who administrates. Admins, owners, whatever you want to call them.
Senior Member = Someone who was around in LoM's baby days and continues to stick around.

I has a question:
Are characters that were approved under the old ProBoards site still approved under the new site? (example; Neville/Luna was approved but I never got the chance to RP as them before the switch)

I would think the answer is yes, unless you've made changes to them.

As long as they are the same, the answer is yes.

...I didn't really think about this until I read things about buying stuff for Chao and stuff on the old Lapse of Memory board. Is it okay if I make a Chao character, or are Chao strictly supposed to be items of some sort?

I don't think chao are too terribly difficult to role play.

Vampires... ehhh... I'm iffy on. Guess I'd need to see the application before making a final judgment on it...
